Kelly's Ghetto DIY

Wow...I almost put DUI there for a minute. That is just bizarre...lol.
For the last few days I've been technically not allowed to be on the computer since my room is...um..."less than clean" (*cough* a mess). My mom usually has let me get on the computer some anyway, but we've been going out shopping (after Christmas sales! wahoo! i got some great stuff! more on that later...) and getting back later, and my dad has been more strict about me not getting on the computer...
But right now they said I could get on to work on this story I'm writing, as long as I went to bed soon...soooooooooooo, I'm multi-tasking. :]

Ok, so here's the dealie: I have two awesome DIY projects!!! (well one's more like a kindergarten project...but still.)
1st- MY EARRING HOLDER!

Materials: HUGE posterboard to cut the white piece from, ribbon, markers, and random Hello Kitty things of a couple old Valentine's. no kidding. oh, and of course, earrings!

I did this about about a month ago because my earrings were EVERYWHERE and I just couldn't find anything! I really have a ton of earrings...because I still haven't put about half of them up there... Sorry about the crap picture quality, it was taken with a camera phone.

2nd - My lovely kindergarten project AKA a popsicle stick box!!!!!

look a random sticker on my hamper!
I was cleaning my room and found a BUNCH of popsicle sticks...so I decided to do something constructive with them! (I made a box like this for my dad once...in like 2nd grade. haha.) I'm not sure what I'll put in it yet...but I'm sure I'll think of something.

I also wanted to post pictures of a couple things I got shopping!!!!! (They're both from American Eagle, and I got a bunch of money off both of them! Gotta love sales!)

My Beautiful Orange Sweater!!!! Just a plain basic color, but it is SO bright, which I love.

I've wanted I shirt with ruffles down the front for a while and I finally got one! YAY!

I also almost got HOT PINK tights at Forever 21 today...but sadly all they had left were pink socks and the tights on a mannequin...which I even offered to buy...until I realized they poked a hole in the tights so this stick-thing that held the mannequin up could screw into the mannequins leg. I was REALLY sad...I may just have to suck it up, order them, and pay shipping. =[

Only one more day of '08 to go guys! :/ I'm really having mixed feelings about that...only 5 months until all my senior friends graduate...but only 4 months til I'm 16! wahoo! Watch out! I'll be driving!

Today I smoked myself to cancer...

THE LINE IS ACTUALLY:
"Today I sat and smoked myself to cancer..."
(from the song "That Is Why" by Say Anything)
However, the first line is what some girl wrote on the side of a pair of my Converse quite some time ago...obviously referencing the line in that song.
It looks quite hideous...I mean WHY would I want that on my shoe? This girl does have some issues...so maybe its something she wouldn't mind having on her shoe? I don't know...

Anyway, what got me on this rant was the fact that I went on
Lookbook today and the first photo I saw had a girl holding a cigarette. I was preeeeeety disgusted:

To me, the cigarette just ruins the outfit. I mean, I can barely even tell if its a good outfit or not! The cigarette doesn't make it look glamorous or sexy or artsy...just gross. I'm not trying to lecture, but maybe smokers could take pictures of their outfits without the cigs, so I can focus on the outfits? Thanks!

Or if that's too difficult...this would work! heehee.

Thank you for not smoking! ;)

Merry Christmas and Happy 5th Day of Hanukkah!

My family just finished opening our Christmas presents! I got some amazing stuff! (a lot of clothes! Yay!) Among that I got this really cute vintage dress…

A Jesus Shirt…

These EPIC heels…

And moccasins which I had wanted SOOOOOOOOOO badly!

My brother got a BUNCH Legos…like 13 different ones. I guess Legos to him are like clothes/shoes/bags to me. =] He got this really cute beach house that I wish I could move into! If it were bigger of course. This is what I wore to church last night: Our choir’s unofficial “director” said we had to wear some variation of red, green, black, or white. I was really tempted to wear the red tights with a green sweater or something “festive” like that, but I decided against it. Unfortunately, some people didn’t get the memo and wore blue shirts…like 4 guys. And there’s only 7 of them! And one lady wore PINK. I was pretty annoyed since I had picked out my outfit according to the “dress code” and a bunch of people hadn’t…
Oh well. We still sounded pretty good, which is the important part.

Now I’m off to help my mom make vegetarian lasagna! Yum!

Happy Holidays!

World domination is not my forte.

I just get KILLED at a game of RISK by my younger brother and his friend.
Absolutely SLAUGHTERED...ugh.
oh well.
I have been lounging in my pajamas ALL day, and don't see the point in putting on a presentable outfit now. Its not like I'm going anywhere...

On another (random) note:
I really wish I had a bajillion, quadrillion dollars right now, so I could by just about everything in there. At least everything Kimchi Blue! All their stuff is great, but I especially love their floral prints!
LUSTLUSTLUST
I am especially sad about the last one because it is only left in a SMALL, and by the time I am no longer dead broke it will probably be gone....=[ I need a job.

I've been listening to Christmas music all day, which I actually like to a point, but I will have to say that Barbara Streisand's version of "Jingle Bells" is one of the most obnoxious caffiene-ridden songs ever. My ears are scarred.

"Glaciers melting in the dead of night..."

Didn’t have time to do an outfit pic today…=[
I was too lazy to find a good spot inside and it was FREEZING outside! What is it with Georgia weather?
It was like 65 yesterday! ugh.
Anyways…
I went to see Twilight today…yah, after its been out a MONTH. I’m so lame. lol.
It was surprisingly better than I thought.
I had originally NOT seen it because friends of mine said it was so bad…but it wasn’t that bad.
And it had a bunch of nice looking guys if I do say so myself…I don’t usually go for blondes, but Carlisle was unexpectedly hot. (As were Emmett, Jasper…and obviously Edward.) Don’t ask, but for some reason Emmett reminded me of M. Shadows (the lead singer of Avenged Sevenfold). Specifically in the “Seize the Day” video.

Left: Emmett Cullen (Kellan Lutz) Right: M. Shadows

Yep, they must be long-lost brothers...or at least long-lost cousins.

The baseball scene was my FAVORITE! Cause they played "Supermassive Black Hole" and it was PERFECT, and because the movie finally picked up at that point.

Also, I LOVE THIS PHOTO OF EMMA STONE!
Its from a spread in January’s Allure.

It included a bunch of other pictures of some other people to, but this was one of my favs.
I thought the whole spread was pretty cool, however, my dad HATED it.
He said they just “didn’t look pretty”.
I told him it wasn’t supposed to necessarily be “pretty”, but unusual and inspiring.
That or I’m just a weirdo who likes weird things. =]

"There are few who'd deny, at what I do I am the best..."

"What I do" meaning FASHION!!!!!!!
Ha. Well at least where I live.
I live in a town full of uninspired Abercrombie Clones and Wannabe Scene Kids...with the OCCASIONAL individual who tries to pull away from the pack...
As in me...and maybe 2-3 people in a school of 1,600+
I don't play by either of their rules. I wear what I want, whenever I want, and I'm not too concerned what people think about me...
So I decided to start a blog!
Anyways this is what I wore to church this morning, its kind of boring for me...but its church, I can't be too weird...it scares the old people. haha:

The print on the skirt is the bomb!!!!!!!

Shirt: Kohls, Cardigan: Mom's, Skirt: Limited Too (I've had this since 4th grade! lol.), Tights: old, Flats: Payless

I tend to keep things FOREVER...........which is sort of good, because I almost got rid of that skirt last year, and I would have been really sad if I had gotten up this morning thinking about wearing it and it wasn't there. I would have cried. No seriously. I would have.
